I have done my research on here and it seems several people have the same problem.
The camera is intermittent when it wants to work.
I have tried resetting the SMC, clearing PRAM, killing active processes, rebooting, signing out, shutting down, etc etc etc.. Nothing will fix the camera.
Has anyone figured ANYTHING out?

All Retina MBPs are stioll under warranty. None of them have been out for over a year yet so there is still part of the standard one year warranty left on it. Take it to an Apple store and have it fixed. That is what the warranty is for.
Yeah, I've been up there and they won't replace it.
It's obviously a software problem if so many people are having the same issue.
I guess I'll try to take it up there again. I just really can't go a week without a computer since I use it for work.
Same here... I've quit FaceTime and turned it off. I also quit Messages, and I still have no camera in Skype.
