Unknown Hardware

I am suddenly getting an Unknown Hardware error, on my Macbook Pro, about half way through the burning process. This is very new. I am using Verbatim DVD - R discs.

Thought it might be the firmware, but Matshita only lists Windows firmware. Repaired permissions.

Any ideas?
