Q: recover erased info

dear i cloud staff,

i had problems with i cloud that locked my i pad because "storage limit" was attained.  i went on my i cloud site on a pc and tried to get this app out of my i pad.  i think i made a mistake and erased all info on my i pad in trying to inactivate this !@#$%^&*( i cloud.  how can i recover my i pad the way it was before with all our pictures, movies, games and settings...???

thanks for your rapid reply (we are in vietnam and really need the i pad)

If you backed it up to iCloud, you can recover your information by restoring the backup.  You'll first have to erase the iPad by going to Settings>General>Reset and tapping Erase All Content and Settings.  You will then go back through the setup screens on the iPad, and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup (see image below - this is for iPhone but the iPad is similar).  Be sure you sign into your iCloud account, have it connected to wifi and your charger as this will take some time to complete.

After restoring, if you want to stop using iCloud, first save any photo stream photos by going to your my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap all the photos you want to save, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll.  Then go to Settings>iCloud and tap Delete Account, and when prompted, choose Keep on My iPad.

Unfortunately, without a more recent backup you can't.  Photos from the last 30 days should be available in photo stream if you had photo stream enabled on your device, and could be synced back by turning photo stream back on on your iPad.  You might also check to see if you have a more recent backup in iTunes, by opening iTunes on your computer, going to Preferences>Devices and looking at the Backups list.  If you have a recent one, restoring to it may recover your photos.
