Hotmail problems on iPhone 5

On my iPhone 3 and old iPad I can read my hotmail via the Mail package and the message remains on the server for me to read on my PCs. Suddenly when I got an iPhone 5, if I read the message on the phone first, it had been removed to the DELETED file when I went to my PCs.

The solution was to create my Hotmail account on the iPhone 5 via the MICROSOFT EXCHANGE option and NOT the HOTMAIL option. Now my messgaes stay in my inbox on all 5 of my devices.
