I couldn't install Final Cut studio 2.0.1 after installing Mountain Lion 10.8

After installing Mountain Lion 10.8, I couldn't install Final Cut studio 2.0.1-the same software that I had bought and used with Snow Leopard. Please advise.

Final Cut Studio '09, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

I recently postulated that Rosetta has nothing to do with this problem and that use of an installation instruction in Terminal should be able to install this program, here:

Not having the program, Final Cut Studio, myself, I am unable to confirm this theory and I am looking for confirmation that it works for the OP here.

Thanks Michael and Nick for the quick reply. I use the application programs to do my things but computer- science-wise, i am an idiot. Names and terminology like you guys used confuse me more. I'd like to try Terminal, if I could get more detailed instructions from you. I did find Terminal on my Mac and I would let you know if Terminal would solve the issue with FCS, but I just didn't know what to do with it. More help, please.

As I mentioned earlier, there will be an hours long period of "apparently" nothing happening after you hit RETURN in Terminal after typing (or better yet, copying and pasting) the instruction line into it.

I had suggested you attempt this at a time when you could then go to sleep and see what appears in the morning when you rise.

Try it again tonight...

Hi Michael and Nick,

Here's the whole story. I left Terminal on and running since our last conversation. When I checked and saw nothing happened, I tried to launch FCS disc for installation. I got the same "no longer supported" message. Therefore, you got my "nothing happened" message earlier.

But as a habit, I thought I would give this painful and unpredictable process a second chance. So I started Terminal again. When I copied and pasted your instruction line in again, the installation suddenly occured. And bingo, this installation issue is successfully solved.

Thanks to you all. I am checking to see if the applications programs run properly. If there's any problem, you'll see me here bugging you guys again.
