Apple TV is not showing HD movies full screen, has bars at top and bottom of screen. Tried changing Apple TV resolution with no luck. Does not matter if the movie is rented or purchased they all show up with the bars at the top and bottom. All movies were from the iTunes Store. Help....

That's how many movies are made nowadays, there is nothing wrong with the movie or your Apple TV.
Thanks for the Welcome, but my son's Apple TV on his 55" Insignia TV shows the same movies from iTunes full screen. So there got to be a setting that I have wrong on my setup.
He may have ordered a SD version or have a zoom feature on his TV. If the black areas north and south of the picture weren't supposed to be there, your picture would be distorted (squashed/stretched)
