APPLE UPDATE KILLED MY PERFECTLY FUNCTIONAL 2n GEN APPLE TV

I went to update my ATV, as prompted by a message on my TV screen, like ALWAYS.

NOW, my 2nd Gen Apple TV (Model A1378) has been frozen for 3 days, "preparing to update"

Functioning PERFECTLY before that.

PERFECTLY.

So, today, after being directed by all suggestions here, AND support articles and suggestions by Apple, I went through ALL the restart and restore processes, including restore through iTunes/micro USB.

No dice.

This happened to my 3 2nd Gen Apple TVs. I unplugged them and let them sit for 5 minutes. I plugged the power cable back in and when they rebooted I did the upgrade from the settings area. My problem was that they started the upgade but did not download the software. That is why they were just sitting there doing nothing. They all work fine now.
