eclipse and Mac OS 10.5 .8

Hi there.

I have trouble installing Eclipse on my MacBook 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, SDRAM: 2GO 667, version 10.5.8.

I have tried several versions, but it always shows the loading window, and then, it shows an alert saying: An error has occured, see the log file N°....

The log says:

It never worked. I have checked my JDK. I have used Dr JAVA, and BlueJ, they still work.

Hello, are you trying the 32 bit or 64 bit version? Thinking the 64 bit version might be looking for Java 1.6, which isn't on 10.5.8

Hi BD Aqua, ans thanks for your answer.

-I tried downloading the 32 bits, still the same trouble.

-I tried to move the "xercesImpl.jar", heres the answer:

Macintosh:~ Charles$ mv /usr/share/java/ant-1.7.1/lib/xercesImpl.jar /tmp

mv: rename /usr/share/java/ant-1.7.1/lib/xercesImpl.jar to /tmp/xercesImpl.jar: Permission denied

I'm stuck!

Macintosh:~ Charles$ sudo mv /usr/share/java/ant-1.7.1/lib/xercesImpl.jar /tmp

mv: /usr/share/java/ant-1.7.1/lib/xercesImpl.jar: No such file or directory

Is somebody in that machine making fun out of me?

Hmmm, why the /tmp on the end???

/usr/share/java/ant-1.7.1/lib/xercesImpl.jar /tmp

OK, look at /usr/share/java/ant-1.7.1/lib/ & see if that file exists at all.

Strange: I displayed the hidden files, and xerces.impl is not located in the expected directory. When I type "locate" in terminal, it says it IS...

On the graphic mode, xercesimpl is located... IN THE tmp folder!!!!!!!!!!

AND Eclipse still doesn't run... Grrrrrr
