Bought a used iphone and can't create an icloud account

Hi, I bought a used iphone 4 a few months ago and can NOT create an icloud account on my iphone. Whenever I try, it says "All free accounts have been activiated on this iphone" No accounts show up and I never created one. Also, yes, I did reset the phone several times. I want to back up all my music before I update to the ios 6 or whatever. I have ios 5 and when I updated to that, I lost ALL my music! So I want to back my files up to icloud before I do the current update. Is there a way to create an icloud account(even if I have to pay for one)?

Welcome to the Apple Community.

Unfortunately once all the 3 iCloud accounts have been created on your device, you cannot create any more regardless of what you do. You will need to re-use one of the accounts that you have already created or create your new account on another device or computer.

I'm sorry but you seemed to have missed the part about this being a USED iphone that I bought from someone. How am I supposed to use one of the old icloud accounts???? Not helpful!

I've tried that site and contacted apple for support. Seems I'm screwed. Can't get a icloud account. Last time I'll ever buy a used cell phone!

You can create the account on any computer, then just log into that account on your phone. You are only restricted from creating accounts not using them.
