I have an iphone 4s i only just noticed that i have a crescent moon showing to the left of the time. It says in settings is a do not disturb thing.
I have checked and whether its on or off it does not eg stop me receiving txts or calls Can someone ecplain please

DND only works when the phone is locked.
Also, check the DND settings under Notifications.
Dear Paul Thanks im 72 but cant understand what facility would not work if both the notifications dnd and the other one were in operation and phone was off whats the point on DND maybe im being silly but i dont fully understand thanks again

Paul, Sorry you did not understand my response. As you know the feature DND is in Settings and Notifications.
In both these places it can be switched on/off
I have tried this and find I can still receive txts or calls or emails on my phone whether i switch to one or off positions.
As that is the case what is the DND feature supposed to be doing on my phone.

With DND On in Settings, do you get calls when the device is locked? Note that you will get calls when the device is unlocked.
