I have had my MacBook Pro for over a year now and I have had this problem with App Store since then: I can't update my apps/programs from Apple - e.g iPhoto, Garageband and iMovie. And the most irritating thing is that I can update the apps I download myself. Does anyone know how to fix it? It would be nice :-) Thanks.

Do you get any error message when you try to update them? First, check if they are hidden. If they are hidden, unhide them > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4928
How can I see if they're hidden or unhidden?
First, follow the steps to unhide the apps. Then, after selecting "View Hidden Purchases", you will see all your hidden apps. Just unhide them following the steps of the link I gave you in my first comment
But what if I don't have any unhidden purchases?
I can't update my Apple apps in App Store. What is wrong?
