No PDF format option in image capture

Question

My image capture no longer gives me pdf in format drop down menu, just jpeg and such.

Can anyone help me to get that back?

Also my software that came with my epson scanner won't open. Just starts to open and dissapears.

I tried reinstalling my os, and reinstalling epson software. Nothing seems to work. How can I get backscanning to pdf. I really need that.

Also my pdf files won't print out. When I open a file and click print nothing happens.

It shows like it's printing but nothing comes out.

Help I'm desperate, it all used to work fine.

Hi, I'm in 10.4.11, but do not see a Format drop down for my Epson scanner!?

To get a PDF, try File>Print>PDF>Save as PDF.

On the Printing problem, do other formats Print OK?

Well printing to pdf doesn't solve my problem, because pdf files are not printing out in the first place.

So what I need is a scanner to scan first, then to save that scan as pdf, which I can't.

And for last to be able to print that pdf or any other pdf on my printer.

Yes, everything else prints fine. Doc or excel files print just fine. PDF opens but when sent to printer it

shows like it started printing but nothing comes out. And I am not sending it to the wrong printer, I checked that.

Well, I think it's time for an Archive and Install if you have room on the HD, but saves all your files and gives a new OS...

After repairing the Drive of course.
