Q: With 5.2, is it possible to send AirPlay mirroring audio to Airport Express and video to Apple TV?

My configuration is an Apple TV connected to a projector and an Airport Express across the room connected to speakers.

With 5.2 I'm able to use Netflix on Apple TV, for instance, to output video to the projector and audio to the airport speakers.

However, when I try AirPlay mirroring of my ML MacBook to watch a video (on VLC or some other app) on the projector, video works fine but there doesn't seem to be a way to output the audio to the Airport Express.

Same issue when AirPlay mirroring Real Racing 2 to the projector, no way to output the audio to the Airport.

Is this still a limitation with the current Apple TV software?

For what it's worth, I managed a workaround with VLC and Airfoil to mirror a video to Apple TV and send the audio to AirPlay speakers.   However, there's still the 2 second delay issue for most other sources, like Chrome and games.

It seems what's missing is a way on the Apple TV to redirect the audio to an AirPlay source while mirroring (holding down select does nothing in this mode, unlike Netflix or Movies where it brings up a source selection menu).  It would be SO COOL if this was implemented in a future ATV update - for all of us with projectors out there.
