Shortcut for zoom out (german)?
Can anybody help please?
Zoom in works fine, but not zoom out.
Any other alternatives like "cmd <" and such: no success....

Thank you fruhulda, but I tryed out so many variations with my german keyboard now, including your suggestion, without success. I guess it's a bug since years now (if I look at other discussions with similar issues) - without any help by apple...
...and that's exactly what I do: zoom in works fine, but not zoom out. I'm pretty much at a loss.
AP,
You must use the Shift key with the Minus key, unless you use the minus key on the Numeric Keypad.
Jerry
Jerry,
Actually, Shift plus = produces + while a hyphen (without Shift) is also a minus sign. But that is on an American keyboard. As Fruhulda's screenshot shows, neither + nor - requires a shift on a German keyboard.
I tried changing the language of Pages to German and my keyboard to German and the shortcuts did not work for me, but that was because my System was still running American English, and those particular shortcuts were "claimed" by the system (Universal Access). I assume anypad is using a German system, although he hasn't said, and I also assume (perhaps naively) that the German localization of Pages would not use those shortcuts if they had another use in the German system. The fact that they worked for Fruhulda would tend to back that up, although I suspect that she didn't switch her system to German, either.
Jeff
No , Jerrold, the minus and the plus keys are on different keys. If you had read my post you had seen that I didn't have any problem with the zooming.
I changed the keyboard and I changed Pages with Language Switcher to gake it to a german Pages and it worked fine. Right Jeff I didn't switch the whole system. I could try that when I get back from work. Create a german user account.
Thank you so much to everybody for all of your answers! 🙂
In contrast to the virtual keyboard the "real" german keyboard looks a bit different as I tryed to mark on the screenshot. There are two functions for one key:
In the meantime I opened Pages in the Guest-Account. Here everything works fine!
Maybe in my personal account the shortcut for zoom out is used in another program. How can I find this out?
The images are different but the functions isn't. You ahve the plus and minus in the same place and the Alt/option key and command key in the same place too.
When having a problem in the original account but not in a guest or new account it is most likely the plist file that is corrupt. The file can be deleted and the computer will create a new fresh one.
Quit Pages
Press the alt/option keyt when you in the Finder click on Go in the Finder menu bar.
Now you will see the option Library in the menu. Click on Library.
In the window that opens find the Preference folder. Look for the com.apple.iwork.pages.plist.
Move the plist file to the trash.
Test if the problem is gone.
Hi fruhulda
after moving the com.apple.iwork.pages.plist to the trash everything works fine! Great!
In Contrast to the menu in Pages for "zoom out" I have to use CTRL/ALT/CMD and the "minus" key wheras
for "zoom in" works both
ALT/CMD and the "plus" key
or/and
CTRL/ALT/CMD and the "plus" key (which is strange but I don't care for the reason now).
THANK YOU!
😀
I am glad the problem is solved. You have Mountain Lion and I am using Snow Leopard. That might explain the difference inwhich keys you have to use.
