What is the purpose and best way to use a network storage with tunes. As a newbie to ths, I am purchasing a synology ds213 and want to house my meda there. Do I move all my music to the nas and then delete from my Mac? Will I use playlists from the nas? Thanks for the advice

This is the setup that I used on my DS212 and it's a great way to manage a large iTunes library.
Does it operate like itunes or is it just storing the music there as a back up. Have you tried the Audio Station? I just downloaded that and my library showed up very nicely and it allowed me to play using my sonos. Thanks.
It operates just like iTunes. All you have to do is make sure the drive is mounted on your computer before you open iTunes.
Audio Station is ok, but, if you're like me and you have some iTunes DRM music, it won't play through Audio Station (and that's annoying).
