Airport Extreme netBIOS error 53

I just bought a Airport express and I'm trying to setup a hard drive on it but I keep getting a netBIOS error 53 on my Win 7 desktop. I have read all the post before this. I changed the name to less then 8 with no spaces I have set the hetBIOS over TCP/IP to enable. I went it to the command prompt and checked the IP

C:\Users\Carr's>net view \\10.0.1.1

There are no entries in the list.

last time I got the same error 53

I don't know what else to try.

Thank you for the help

Hi Carraudio,

On Win 7 click on the Start Button, then Right-Mouse-Click on 'My Computer' and select Properties.

A window will open, scroll down until you see: Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings - Click on ,Change settings'.

The System Propery panel appears, click on the Change button and at the bottom you will be able to set / change your Workgroup.

(If the Name of the Workgroup is already there and you are happy with it, then use that in the set up of your AirPort Extreme).

Regards,

Pasquale

OK, Net View with the IP address does not work on the airport express (I get the same), however I get the system error 5 has occourred - access is denied, when I have not logged into the Airport express....

Check the AirPort Base Station Agent, which is a little program that should be present in the system tray, if it is not there, look into the same folder where the airport utility is and start it. That program gives you the opportunity to log into the Disk attached to the airport.
