thats what i mean of REMOVING SIM... it's an iPhone... and the primary use of that is to communicate using SIM...

apple should check all the posibilities. i have tried all the troubleshooting and my conclusion came from it. i have noticed that if cellular network is disable (no sim{wifi on, push and notification} or airport mode) battery works fine. and i have 2 versions of iphone, from US and local-same configuration... US version works fine with that OS but my local version is not. i think its about the update that was made on cellular performance and reliability. Only some versions of iPhone been affected.

we have to identify the issue coz i think moderator cant understand what we experience. not all versions was affected by that update... thats the problem.

I have turned Cellular Date OFF. All of my apps are closed. Everything is pretty much disabled. My Iphone 5 battery is still draining 1% every 10 minutes with ios 6.1.2. (and i am not even using it).

I cannot believe how incompetent Apple has become. This would have never happened in the past.

My phone isn't worth much at this point, because it drains incessantly.

I have had a 4 and a 4s with ios 5 in the past, and never had any battery issues whatsoever.

The crazy thing is that the battery issue has gotten worse for me with every 6 update.

But this latest update is a whopper. It's pretty much killing my phone.

Can't believe that Apple make such a bad move , Next phone definitely will be choosing Samsung

I installed the IOS 6.1.2 update 2 days ago and since then my battery only lasts a few hours off charge (not being used) if I take a call or go on the net then it lasts under an hour from full charge! This is terrible... Apple you must get it fixed, I am not happy and I am very disappointed that a fix hasn't been rolled out by now! I am considering changing provider as this just isn't good enough - I don't have a mobile charger to hand wherever I go, I'm sure this wouldn't be good enough for your directors... I'm sure they don't have to deal with these problems and neither should your customers! Sort it out please and quickly!

I think I found something interesting.

Yesterday on my Iphone 5 i let the battery completely discharge and then totally recharge but leaving iphone connected to power cord for 4 hrs. The strange thing I noticed is: when I connected my phone to power outlet after a min power was 4% and after 5min was 23% so I thought that the problem was basically in battery power calculation. That's why I tried to leave the phone connected more then needed and the results are no: 2h 50 min usage 14h 30 stand by and battery is at 44%. I think it's a good deal

Understand people "everything that are trying to do does not work 100% What use is it to remove the SIM card? Disable all notifications? Then after that, we dont need any mobile phone!!

shameful is that Apple did not immediately respond and fix this bug and gave fire all  people who are in charge for iOS!!

This is HUGE hardware problem and thay should respond!!

I updated to 6.1.2 on my iphone 5, if you turn off 3G when you're on wifi it makes a huge difference! I have 5 and a half hours usage and 1 day standby! Screen brightness at 30-40, is this good battery life?

I just about it and discussing it, the problem is in the 3G signal which quickly consumes battery power anyway but with 6.1.2 the process goes twice as fast!!

And what if you do not have wifi? then how to use the Internet when does not exist an option to turn off 3G and turn EDGE intsted!

I think the continuing software issues are not just related to iOS. I'm experiencing both iOS issues and OSX issues. Such a pity that Apple are rapidly denegenerating into pushing out rubbish like this. Based on what I've seen so far it's accross the board with a lot of products - bad software quality.

I couldn't update from iOS6.1 to iOS6.1.2 as it failed continuously. After resetting the phone and disabling and re-enabling WiFi I finally managed to install the update. Reading this post I think I should have delayed updating.

Will monitor battery life and post back any issues. So far though I don't think I'm suffering from reduced battery life. This may be due to the manner in which i had to install the update. Time will tell.

I reinstalled 6.1.2 from scratch again and didn't even run native iphone e-mail application nor for exchange nor for other e-mail services. Now during 6 hours I have only 10% battery discharge. that is GREAT!

As for the e-mail, I will use third party app's like Outlook Mail and Google Mail, that is available in appstore. So for me is the only a real solution and I have battery drain story over.
