Hi all, u might wanna have a look at this website, had the same problem of battery draining really fast after upgrading to the ios 6.1.2, so i was looking everywhere for some tips and I believe i finally found it by following the first and 2nd step on this website, I think my battery is back to how it was before upgrading to the ios6.1.2. That solution is also posted in this thread, and has been posted uncountable times for battery drain over the past 5 years. I'm glad you found a solution.

Why do you find it acceptable that sometimes your car won't start? Or that you computer crashes, wiping out the past 3 hours of work? Or that your washing machine floods your floor? Or that you have to restore Windows, which requires reinstalling all of your software and restoring your data from the backup that you hopefully kept? Or that your Mac (or Linux computer, or Android device) occasionally throws a Kernel Panic and has to be restarted? Or that your mainframe sysabends?

Your iPhone is not a phone, in spite of its name. It's a very powerful pocket-sized computer that, by the way, can also make phone calls. And it is going to suffer from all of the issues that any other computer occasionally suffers from.

I'm sorry but I find Lawrence is the most annoying poster on this thread. Your logic is so stupid that it doesn't even deserve a response to any of the points you've mentioned. I don't usually care to participate in these forums because I'm only here to find solutions but your callous responses need to be mentioned. Please, go away! We don't need you here.

sorry man all you say is just to help but you know what, we are having problems with IOS 6.1.2 battery drain, so all you say is not working with all user's problems, i do all what u say but no solution.

What troubleshooting steps have you tried to fix the problem? If I know what you have tried I can probably help you find a solution. Waiting for the next release is not a useful option, as the probability is that it will not fix it.

i do all out there what you and other people said, and the only way where i saw a better difrence is leaving iphone new, and then battery duration was 1 day y 2 hour , using 8 hours ,with 3g activated and sometimes wifi,but without icloud copy...i have Iphone 5..

Well, with 8 hours of usage your phone is performing slightly better than its specificatlons, so it sounds like your problem is solved.

yeah but with no apps in work only safari and imassge ...nothing of viber whatsapp....no apps... i just add my icloud and done a new backup..with an other id ....add some apps....and problem was back 

so now i have done backup only in mac and use icloud only for contacts and notes ..at the moment looks it work.. but not sure .....lets see ..

You should be able to add your apps back without the problem coming back. Usually it's caused by corrupt data in one or more apps.

2 such apps that have long been the topic of battery life discussions since they were developed.

I darenot say that these apps were the definitive cause of your concerns but please be aware that apps of this nature have to stay CONSTANTLY open, working and connected to their relevant servers by their very design.

Therefore you WILL see shortened battery life using these apps, whether theyare causing the dreaded "battery drain" or not.

Something to keep in mind.

iOS 6.1.2 did not fix the runway connections to Microsoft Exchange in our environment.  A single iPhone 5 running 6.1.2 connected to our Exchange server 69,878 times in one day.  I provided Apple our latest log.

man yes i think all we are having this problem cause of 6.1.2 man...what are u talking about let thing to apple to fix this ****.. i have been 2 year using all these features and you say......stop leave thing to apple they ll know how to fix...

The only thing that has stopped the rapid battery drain for me has been to turn off "push".  I even tried turning it back on, as Lawrence suggested, waiting about 3 hours, and the battery drained to nearly 0%.  So that didn't work.  I've had this phone for less than a week. 

I simply can't believe that Apple would knowingly install a feature that would drain a battery in a matter of a few hours and say it's "normal".  Given the fact that many people (on other forums, as well) say this did not happen prior to 6.1.2., how can we believe that this issue is not related to 6.1.2.?  When I first purchased the phone I played around with it for hours and still had plenty of charge left.  Then I downloaded 6.1.2.

Although I'm pleased that I don't have to charge my phone every 4 hours or so, I'm not pleased that my phone is not fully functional.  Push is an option that should work and not so adversely affect the phone.  I would expect to use more battery charge the more apps I use or the longer I use them; however simply having this one feature enabled should not drain my battery when I'm not doing anything else on the phone.
