    How much email did you get in those 3 1/2 hours? I get a lot on Monday mornings, so for me it would not be a meaningful test. Push definitely uses more energy than Fetch, but it always has. That's because each message initiates a session with Push, but with Fetch the session overhead only occurs once per Fetch cycle regardless of the number of messages being retrieved.

    If I have wi-fi turned on and connected to our work wi-fi account, I don't get email on my phone (while actually IN the building). Therefore, I'm not getting any email on my phone right now.  (Of course, that' s an issue for our IT vendor to change a setting on the server.)  But the point is, I haven't had any email this morning.  No use at all.

    Had to Factory Reset my Wife's iphone 4 after the 6.1.2 update because of the battery drain issue.  She had a Mophie Juicepack Air and it was draining it and the iphone battery in less than 6 hours.  I first tried the Restore from backup, but the problem came back.  I reset to factory again, manually added her email addresses back in and installed just the "can't live without" apps she was using.  So far so good.

    @fordmatic69

    I'm with you on this although I didn't have to perform that drastic of a change. Once I reset all of the settings, I battery drain was resolved but I was also able to keep all of my important Exchange settings.

    Thanks to everyone involved. The lesson that I've learned here is that there are many factors that can contribute to this issue and there are more than one way to solve a problem. I've learned now not to discount anyone's suggestion.

    HORRIBLE drain after 6.1.2 update, not before. Coincidence or not...it is ridiculous. App or not...it is still ridiculous. Time for Apple to own up to the issues and get to work. Please. Thank you.

    They are happy to take our $$$ and for what these products cost we should have products that work properly.

    Hi Lawrence!  I have an open line iphone 5 from hk because here in the Philippines, only two carriers were given licenses to carry it.  I belong to the third carrier.  Before the update, I always have wifi on, cellular data off, 2 gmail accounts used sparingly(I usually check them on my MBP).  I do some light browsing, twitter, more on calls and text.  My battery life was around 30hrs standby and more than 8hrs usage.  After the two updates, it is just 4hrs usage, and around 17 to 18hrs standby. I have tried everything including restore as new, and set it up as a new phone, but the battery life is still the same.  I move around a lot, and I noticed that when I get to some low carrier signal areas, my phone will get hot.  I would check it with battery doctor, but no apps are running, and the cpu will indicate 3 - 10% usage.  My point is, since the update supposedly upgraded the LTE blah blah..., then maybe it is not compatible with all the carriers?  My carrier is not capable of LTE, **** their 3g is not even that good yet.  I don't know, but how many people here complaining are in the same situation?  I mean does your carrier support LTE?  I have also upgraded my ipad 3 wifi, and it did not get any problems.  For those with problems with ipad battery, are you using wifi only or wifi with 3g?  Maybe, this is just something that apple overlooked.  Anyway, hope it gets better

    We have the same usage, and I am not satisfied with it.  Before the update, I can get double the time.  What network carrier do you use?  Does it support LTE?

    I co-sign, with one excception: 6.1.2 update BROUGHT me the battery drain issue. Before 6.1.2 it was normal. Now, when no apps running, I get 10% battery drop each ~4 hours in standby mode. No carrier's LTE. No extra apps running. Just phone. Standby mode. iPhone 5, iOS 6.1.2

    So to clarify, your phone is dropping 10% every 4 hours?

    So, by extension - you need to charge it every day and a half?

    I've updated to 6.1.2 yesterday morning. And by the midnight it went down to 50% charge. I used it as much as I usually use it. Today, it's been 5 hours since the last full charge and the batt is at 90%. No calls made.

    Legitimately having a hard time identifying if you're disappointed in those figures.

    To clarify, what you're experiencing is normal. The majority of users in this thread are having a hard time getting to 5 hours at 0% remaining, let alone 90%.

    Enjoy it mate. You're in the good column.

    Well, the it just became noticable. Been using it since the release, and it never went down below 70% during the day. Well, ok, I lied. 60%. And yesterday It was below 50%, without changning my habits, just after the 6.1.2 update. So yeah, I was quite surpirsed of that. Anyway, thanks' for the cheerup How's weather in Brisbane? Im planning to visit it to discover if it's a good place to live permanently!
