Add me to the battery drain list. This is the first time ever that I HATE my iPhone. For the last week all I worry about is the battery going dead. I have reset the phone, restored, changed fetch and push settings. I do not want to HATE my iPhone. Apple are you listening?

No, Apple is not listening. This is a user to user forum. I'm sorry you are on the list, but if you read the messages on the list you will see how others have solved the battery drain, most of them quite easily.

If you restore as a new phone, then restore your backup it will restore your app data. But be careful not to sync until the backup is restored, or the sync will overwrite the backup. To be extra safe make 2 backups, one to your computer and one to iCloud.

It depends on your Internet connection speed. On my 45 Mbps FiOS connection it took about 5 minutes.

This is getting silly. If this is not fixed by the time the Galaxy S4 is launched I am solving this problem with that purchase. Enough already!!

@Lawrence Finch...thank you on many levels.  First and foremost, for a way to fix the battery issue that I was having (I shut off all of the email components...mail, calendar, contacts, reminders...then did a RESET and then reactivated thos components...problem solved).  Second, thanks for a well-reasoned, simple approach to diagnosing the problem and identifying a series of possible fixes.  I'm a big fan of common sense (especially when it comes to tech).  Thanks again!

I decided I too would do this and turn off everything in iCloud, reboot phone then turn everything on in iCloud. The battery's seems to be lasting a bit longer but now I have lost sound and vibration when someone texts me.

I too had the issue of battery drain after upgrading to v6.1.2. I tried almost everything I had found on the Internet and eventually I found a solution that worked for me. I know this bug seems to be different for everyone depending on their phones configuration, but I hope this helps a few people.

    1. Resetting network settings - DIDN'T work for me.

    2. Switching off PUSH emails - WORKED, but obviously I had to manually pull my emails down. Not the best of solutions.

    3. Switching off "iCloud documents" - DIDN'T seem to work for me.

    4. Deleting exchange account and setting it up again - WORKED perfectly!!!! Now I have a phone that will last at least a day without recharging.

I think I fixed my iphone 5 battery problem.  Last night, I was still discussing with @LawrenceFinch about network signals and calls, but now, everything is very good.  I deleted my two gmail accounts, turned off push for icloud, and did a reset my phone the other day. The battery was still not good yesterday, but after charging it overnight, the battery seems holding up.  I unplugged it this morning around 545am.  Right now, it is already 459pm, and the usage is:

    Usage : 2hrs 36min

    Standby: 11hrs 17min

The battery is still at 77%!  Before, my battery at this time would have reached 38 -43%.  I will continue to monitor this, and hopefully it solves the problem.  Maybe I will add back my e-mail address tomorrow.  Hope this will help others.  You can also try other remedies in this forum.

And I sat down by 1% every 5 minutes. An hour standby phone loses 10-20% charge. With that, regardless of the availability of the network. Even in airplane mode the battery lasts just as fast. I tried everything. I do not help. Even pulled out the SIM card and the phone will still discharge at 100% for 6-8 hours. This makes it impossible to use the phone. We have to carry around everywhere charging and charge the phone at the first opportunity.
