Feb 21, 2013 8:55 PM in response to Alister452by Rifano,My 4s is doing good at 6.1.1 battery drain 1% every one hour on standby. With 3G active, wifi, bluetooth all is on. Several apps using location services and notifications. I have 3 mails (2 gmails and 1 yahoo). Also use iCloud for mail, contacts and find my iphone. From 100% full charge, it took about 8 hours standby to 99%. After that reduce 1% every hour on standby.
With iOS 6.1.2 it reduced 1% every 30-40 minutes. Getting worse although it's not to bad. The same condition wifi on, bluetooth, notifications, emails and location services. Now is 80% with 1 hour 27 minutes usage. Browsing, play games and download apps and standby 11 hours 55 minutes.

Feb 21, 2013 9:45 PM in response to Alister452by Prabhs,I got the iphone replaced due to battery problem with another one and this one is also having the same old issues of heating up and draining the battery. I bought it in India. Here, it takes 3 days for Apple service center to evaluate the battery drain and to provide a replacement. What a waste of time. I shudder to think of complaining to Apple service. Can Apple help to evaluate the battery drain within a day and provide a replacement instead of the standard answer of "It takes 3 days"

Feb 21, 2013 10:25 PM in response to Alister452by cnukep,It seems like 6.1.1 had better battery use then 6.1.2. and 6.1.2 drains battery like 6.1.
Was bad idea to upgrade to 6.1.2 (

Feb 21, 2013 11:49 PM in response to Alister452by gher03,I think its because of that update for 3g something. The 6.1.1. I have tried all the troubleshooting steps. Restoration, set as new, no email set up, location services is off, no running app, but still battery headaches persist. I have tried removing my sim and turn off wifi and wow... It works. How will i be able to use my phone without sim and wifi???

Feb 22, 2013 12:30 AM in response to Lawrence Finchby FouadAM,Thank you Lawrence, i did as you suggested and it seems the issue got resolved. thanks again. but its sad that we have to guess solutions, and these solutions are not coming form Apple.

Delete your Exchange account. Reboot your phone (hold HOME and SLEEP until an Apple logo appears, ignoring "Slide to power off" when it appears). Do not add back the Exchange account immediately, but check the battery. If the problem is resolved then add the Exchange account back. It should be OK after adding it back.
If it is not resolved with no Exchange account and you have other email accounts try the same with them.
If the problem is not email, social media apps are the next suspects. Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, Google+, etc.
In addition, if you have not recalibrated your battery gauge recently you should do that. Drain the battery until the phone shuts off and does not restart, then charge for 4 hours with the wall charger.
The final test if none of the above fixes the problem is to restore the phone as New and do not add any apps or email accounts. If the problem is still present you should take the phone to an Apple store for exchange; you have a hardware problem. If a phone with nothing on it has good battery life you can try restoring your backup. If the problem returns you have corrupt data in your backup and you will need to restore as New again, and manually add your content back. This is very rare, however.

Feb 22, 2013 1:20 AM in response to vanayby TanniGirl,I had a sound issue like you describe, prior to the update, took it apple Genius Bar, they replaced my phone. If it is less than a year old, take it to apple. They didn't bat an eye. Just replaced it.

Feb 22, 2013 2:17 AM in response to Alister452by JeffC54,I never had problems with my iPhone 4 until the latest iOS 6.1.2 update and now I am lucky to get 3 hours of battery life, even with very minimal use. Today I had to charge my iPhone five separate times as I hit 0% battery life several times. I have also noticed my phone is taking much longer to charge and the back of the phone becomes warm to the touch, even when not in use.
I have tried rebooting, resetting settings, and deleting and reinstalling email accounts with no improvement. I am very disappointed in the newest update and hope Apple can come up with a quick fix because this is unacceptable. I am in a sales position and rely heavily on my iPhone just like I am sure many other dissatisfied iPhone users after reading sinilar issues with iOS 6.1.2.
Please fix ASAP!

Feb 22, 2013 3:14 AM in response to Alister452by WeetA34,more than 43% lost in 3 hours
@Apple, what are you doing with your updates
it's very annoying. Each update introduces a new bug.
I think the last solution is to sell my iphone 5 and see elsewhere

Push is disabled since the begining.
In my case, Push is not the culprit
