Jwh22 I am very well aware of what going on with the update. The information is out there on all the update what the patches were for 6.1, 6.1.1, 6.1.2 and what the update corrected for each one. 6.1.3 will be for the lock screen bug pass code and map issues. I don't have a problem with my devices I know how to use my products. When the 6.1.3 is release people will have a problem with that.

You have to know with a software update you are going to have good in it and have bad in it. You have people trying to find holes in the software and when they do you get a new software update to protect you.

I'm having some of the same issues with my nearly new 4S right after upgrading to 6.1.2 yesterday:

    - Phone will not shut off (immediately restarts)

    - Extremely fast battery drain in standby

    - Intermittent iTunes sync issues such as losing connection during sync with USB cable and various errors, most commonly "can't identfy phone"

I've tried the hard reset (holding down the home and sleep buttons to restart), cleaned the charging port, and done a full restore from iTunes, all to no avail.

I followed these steps: Reset settings, made a full cycle 0%-100%(not disturbed),turn off and the again on some settings(airplane mode On) and the results are: 8.17 hours of usage and 17.36 hours standby.I am happy!

Again, there are numerous "solutions" that have worked for different people. It appears the battery consumption loop gets set up in myraid ways, depending on the particular array of settings and accounts each user has. Anyway, reset settings and cycling did not solve it for me, nor did deleting accounts etc.  Turning off Push email did. I believe the best summary of current fixes is here, as posted earlier by bkbeachlabs:  http://bkbeachlabs.com/blog/ios-6-1-2-battery-issue-solved/

So this worked for me.  I was losing battery at a ridiculous pace after the upgrade.

I went into Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings (not the content one).

I then re-established my wifi connection, my Google Latitude (meaning location services always on), Bluetooth stayed on, etc.  Now I'm back to normal battery consumption.  My test was I went to bed last night with 20% battery left.  Typically I expect to lose 10-15% overnight on "standby".  I woke up to 7% battery which is exactly what I would have expected.  This morning I've used my phone normally/actively and that 7% took a good 30 minutes to expire.

HOWEVER, just now I realized that mail was set to Manual Pull.  I'm re-enabling the 15-minute push and will update this group if this was my problem since other posts indicate this seems to be an issue.

Uhg!  W#F!  Stupid 6.1.2.  Battery life is terrible and it was fine before.  You can sit and watch as the % indicator goes down!  That is crazy!  Something is very wrong.

I've been running most of the day after doing the steps above (two posts) and seeing what appears to be normal battery drain.  Thanks to those that suggested the reset.

GUess what Apple.....6.1.2 didn't fix the battery! Until some jerk comes on here and says, my battery is better on 6.1.2....so Apple just assumes 6.1.2 worked! Not for me it didn't! It's worse on 6.1.2!

First of all, I had really bad battery life since updating to 6.1.1 on my iPhone 4S, and on my iPad as well after updating to it to 6.1.2.

I found something on line that suggested turning off the Push for all email account. I did last night and today, after over 12 hours of normal use, I'm at 78% on my iPhone bad 89% on my iPad. This, I consider, a temporary fits. Since Push is an optional setting, one shouldn't give that up just to have expected battery life. Once 6.1.3 is out, I'll turn Push back and see if the battery drain returns. As for now, this will do.

    Folks at Apple: this isn't a fix … it's a work-a-round!!!!!

During the night my iPhone 5 is in airplane mode (and no wifi or bluetooth).

Before 6.1.2 during the night the battery consumption was 0%. After 6.1.2 it is 10%! Fact.

A Big Thank you to Jscherbel – Your steps you posted for the “Reset All Settings” worked for me! I didn’t have to do more of the suggested changes on this thread, thank goodness.

“I went into Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings (not the content one).  I then re-established my wifi connection, etc.

Also, thank you to bkbeachlabs for compiling all the possible solutions on your web page http://bkbeachlabs.com/blog/ios-6-1-2-battery-issue-solved/ I am sure that is helping a lot of people.

Lastly, thank you to runr25 for giving the details on how to find the iCloud Doc setting

    1. Go to Settings > General > Cellular > Scroll to bottom...
    2. TURN OFF "iCloud Documents"

It is great to have this forum to ask questions and find answers. Thank you to all that posted solutions. I was going crazy charging my iPhone 5 four times a day. Now I'm back to my normal battery drain and 1 charge a day.
