Display current weather on lock screen without unlocking your phone!

Dear Apple Patrons,
I have an iPhone 5 and wish to view current weather temperature from my lock screen. (No, I dont want to unlock my screen and navigate to weather app!)
when you simply press the home button, the backlit gets on and you can see the time. I want to customize this to display the current temperature too! There are few apps available on the App store. However, they dont perform the desired function.
Any idea on how this could be done?
