When I execute Java Web Start, I get an error "Java Web Start cannot be opened because of an error " I am running OSX 10.6.8 and Java Update 13. Anyone know why ?

Indicates a borked installation. Reinstall the 10.6.8 COMBO v1.1 update, followed by the latest Java one.

That's a much older version of Java Web Start that shouldn't be there any more.


The latest is version 13.9.2 and it lives in /System/Library/CoreServices/JavaWebStart.app.


I see that was true even for my old Java 1.5.0 and Java Web Start 12.9.0 created in 8/18/2009.
