Solved the problem myself with following Communityinfo:

Delete folder "SC Info" in:

  • c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\ (Windows XP)
  • /users/Shared/SC Info (Mac OS)
  • C:\Program Data\Apple Computer\iTunes (Vista)

I had the same problem. Use Windows 8 Pro with Media Center, 64 bits.

Uninstalled iTunes, downloaded iTunes 11.0.2. for Windows 64 bit. Received the -42110 error after first run of the application.

The path to the "SC Info" folder in my Windows 8 is: C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\iTunes\SC Info.

After deleting the "SC Info" folder, the error did not return.

Thanks for the tip!
