Q: macbook pro 13" does not power up after smc update 1.6
Facts: Mid to Late 2010 Macbook Pro 13" with latest Mountain Lion (10.8.2??)
installed SMC update 1.6 as requested through the app store
update went through and computer restarted with following symptoms:
-fan running at full blast
-battery icon crossed on menu bar and showing "no battery available" when clicked. SMC looks fine apart from battery showing 0%
-screen light turns on full blast
-keyboard lights don't function nor able to be adjusted using F5+F6 keys
I did a few restarts hoping symptoms pass - no help
I loged back into app store - it showed update req still, run through the update again, worked, but no change of fan, battery or lights - still malfunctioning.
Started searching forums etc. didn't find anything
Found the update on the Apple website, ran it, went through to restart and... that's it doesn't load!
I get the ding sound on startup, a white screen, then a symbol of a circle with a line through it. the comp shuts down after a few seconds.
Please help...

Apple Finally fixed my computer!
after about 3 months of struggles, including an email to Phil Schiller (after my request for Apple to fix the computer was rejected) Apple stepped up and sent the local Authorised Service Providers the CS code that got my Logic Board changed over and my computer fixed.
As with Akimont88 My computer also requested the SMC update again, I haven't done it yet despite technical support promising that it's okay and I should go ahead and do it.
So to all of you stuck after this update, have hope and keep fighting, Apple have been good at taking responsibility for this fault.
cheers and good luck
