Unable to send email (receive is ok)

I set up an iMac for a client. It downloads email just fine, but cannot connect to SMTP for sending. I tried copying settings from the G4 it replaced but the Preferences panels are changed of course. The accounts are set up using the entire email address as username.


Some details-

Network: Ethernet (internal network with printers, most of the computers are Macs)

OS: Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Hardware: 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB 1067 MHz RAM
