Q: All my e-mails are gone!

I got an email stating my iCloud storage was full. I deleted all the heavy documents to free up space. I went to the Mail app to find that ALL my mail had disappeared. WHY???

Go to www.icloud.com login and verify that the email has gone, or not.

Yes. They are all gone. I did not do it, that is for sure. It would seem odd that once one reaches their storage limit that Apple would delete all emails prior to the one they send telling you that your linit has been reached!.

When I got that e-mail I immediately went to the iCloud app and deleted some old video files I had stored on the cloud. That freed up most of my space. But when I logged into iCloud.com later in the day I found ALL my emails gone.

Apple don't delete your emails when space runs out, you just stop receiving new mail so I have no idea what transpired, restore from your backup.

I had a similar experience. Only my inbox disappeared. I found some of the more recent mail in my junk or deleted folder. I moved it back to my inbox and it again disappeared. My inbox will not hold anything older than 1 week. I have no problems with my sent items folder. Not giving my icloud e-mail address out any more. Was hoping to find answer here but no luck so far.

Yes, only my inbox as well. I had all my old emails in my sent folder as well as all the others. Bizarre! When I went to my laptop to get my old emails I saw them there when I opened the program but in an instant they vanished. I should have disconnected from the internet. Mail just mirrors what is on the the iCloud site.

Two days ago I have the same experience and I'm still looking for an answer. Receive a mail telling my storage is full and in 5 minutes Bum! my inbox was empty.

    Hello

Same experience from my side: no more emails, only the ones since a week.

    The 'sent' are still here.

    Any solution?

    Thanks

I contacted Apple Support to ask for a solution. During a couple of days I received several phone calls asking for info of my different devices and configurations. They didn't have an explanation for my problem and only can recover e-mails for one week ago and. They decide to report to engineering to see what happened and recover the rest.

Meanwhile, after 3 days, my Mail program start to download ALL my mail again. 5000 unreaded e-mails in my inbox. The same way they disappeared they returned. No explanation, no moves, no clicks, nothing. IPhone and iPad sync perfectly.

Two days after that  (weekend) Apple Support has called me again (this morning). And that's the strangest part, they have bad news for me because they (nor support neither engineers) cannot recover my lost e-mails!!! Then, I've told them my e-mail has returned and they didn't know it. My problem was solved but Apple Support didn't have a clue why or when.

Happy end but my confidence in iCloud Service has decreased a lot. I've been using my mac.com adress for more than 10 years (most of them paying around 100$) and I didn't expect that kind of surprises and unknwoledge from Apple.
