fine-tipped iPad Stylus
I am a chemist looking for a really good stylus for making very detailed notes, drawings, equations, and diagrams. Any suggestions?

The Verge has a pretty comprehensive look at many different types and brands of iPad stylii.

Maybe one of them will tickle your fancy.
Personally I use a run of the mill Targus stylus. but of course its not really thin nor the best out there.
The capacitance-touch technology used in the iPad screen really doesn't allow for a really fine-tipped stylus. The stylus has to more or less replicate the capacitance of a finger which requires a minimum amount of surface area. So none of the compatible stylii really are going to have a fine tip. Either they'll have a fairly blunt tip or they'll have a disk at the tip as the Jot Pro does.
Regards.
Bamboo stylus solo has about the smallest tip I've seen (the touch screen technology on the iPad limits how small a stylus tip can go, as it has to mimic a fingertip). I like the bamboo solo, but it comes with a soft tip that does not work well, for.me at least. But, you can buy a pack of 3 "firm" tips to replace the soft one and those work much better. I also like that the tip can be replaced easily, as they do wear out, on all or any stylus.

I'd recommend the 300 Freedom model.
I think someone answered this question on this topic in another post. They pretty much said, that a thinner tip doesn't necessarily mean thinner writing because iPads are not pressure sensitive. However, a smaller/thinner tip would "feel" better as its closer to what you're probably more used to with pens and pencils. Maybe try a Slim Stylus Pen from these guys http://www.thestylusstall.com.au or Click Here :-)
I noticed that you use your ipad mini for notetaking and have an screen protector. Are you finding this to be difficult? I have an i-Blason Matte Anti Glare and it may be too think The Bamboo Stylus works well using Upad, but leaves a lot to be desired with other apps. I just got a Hand Stylus which does not work at all with a screen protector but does with it off.
As I read a lot and carry mine to the gym, I don't want to remove the screen protector. I'm very picky and I take it outside a lot. I was curious as to your thoughts.
Try the Hand Stylus. Very fine tipped. Seemed to work well with no screen protector on. (handstylus.com)
Adonit.com Jot touch, pro, flip, mini, and classic cant be beat on precision.

This site might help with that: www.beststylusforipad.com.au Hope it works out for you🙂
I'm sure it will work out for YOU if viewers respond to your SPAM.
I'm not selling anything, so I hope you won't consider this as spam! But I use styluses on my iPad to study physics, and I made some videos to talk about the experience of handwriting on the iPad, using the Adonit Jot Pro, or, more recently, the Adonit Jot Script. I hope this can help you in your quest for the perfect stylus!
Well, it might be considered spam because you posted the same message many times. However, I do agree about the Jot Script. Expensive, but it works well.
Yes, you're right. But I'm done! I just want to help people the best I can. There's absolutly no ads on my videos, my motives are pure, so to speek. But, I'm done; now I hope people will find this informations by themselves.
Jot script. It's .5 tip is great for iPad. I use it with myscript notes. Your hand writting can be cursive and searchable. You can also OCR convert a written text.
Learning curve is 1 - 2 weeks.
Battery life is about 4 hours. So i have about 2 extra AAA rechargeable batteries handy. The short battery life or absence of built in rechargeable is small trade-off to utility & function.
I tried a couple of others, my search ended with this pen
