BCC messages not showing in Sent Mail

I am using Apple Mail v.6.2 to retrieve my messages from Gmail with Mountain Lion.

I have one iMap Gmail account.

I find that if I send an email to a group of friends and put their addresses as BCC and my address in the To field that it won't show up in my Sent folder.

If I just send the message to a single recipient in the normal way it will show up in my Sent folder.

I have gone to my Gmail account website and looked for the BCC emails in the All Mail folder and they don't show up there either.

In Mailbox Behaviours in Apple Mail, I have the Sent and the Junk boxes checked to store on Server and both blocks in the Trash checked.

After reading lots of information on the internet about Gmail and Apple Mail having problems I always thought that at least with Gmail it never gets rid of anything so I will never lose any mail. At least that is what I have read numerous times but now I see that is not the case.

Any suggestions would be appreciated,

I'm using Apple Mail 6.0 and Maverick to access my Gmail account. I have the same situation too. It seems to me that if I send bcc from Apple Mail, they do not show up in searched mail on Apple Mail or viewed on Gmail web-client. I believe it has something to do with the way IMAP is managed and stored and there is no cure. This is terrible because the only reason bcc is useful is so that you can send secrets to someone else unbeknown to the recipient. But if I can't remember who I bcc to last time, what's the use?!

Not sure if this is a fix, but I tried sending myself a test email from only the Bcc field, and lo and behold it now shows the Bcc field in all sent item previews;

...maybe leaving the 'To' field blank on purpose forced Mail to show it.

Rebooted the Mail program, still there - rebooted the machine, still there. Hope this is still relevant and it works for you too - J.
