Lately my screen has been freezing up and the only thing that I can see moving is my mouse. The only way I can see to get out of it is to turn off the computer and then back on. But despite that, it still freezes, and I think it happens mostly when I want to watch videos. But i am not sure if that is affecting anything. I have had a different problem before where the battery never shows that it is charging but has an 'x' in it, but I always easily fix that sometimes just by resetting the System Management Controller or SMC. Even doing the resetting doesn't fix the freezing problem I'm having currently.

So is there a way to fix it myself with some type of program or something or should I take it in to an Apple store?
