If upgrading an earlier Snow Leopard to 10.6.8, is Rosetta still an option?

    If you mean 10.6.8, yes.

If you mean 10.7 or 10.8, no.

Yes: however, you cannot access the Rosetta option in the upgrade from 10.6.x to 10.6.8.

You must reinsert the Mac OS X Snow Leopard Install DVD and boot to it and restart the installation process.  On the screen that has the OPTIONS button, click on Rosetta (and IMHO, QuickTime 7) and then Rosetta will be installed.

After that installation has been completed, you should then install the 10.6.8 Combo Update, if you already have downloaded it, or use Software Update to accomplish the same result.
