trying to install software from a developer that my system is blocking

I am trying to install software from a third party developer and my system will not allow it because the developer is not recognized. I have installed this software before but it was with snow leopard. How can I get mountain lion to allow installation?

MacBook Pro, Other OS, Lion

This is a new security feature in Mountain Lion; if you want a permanent change rather than a one-time allow, go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General and change the settings from MAS to one of the other two choices. This is only recommended though if you are sure of the app and the developer.
