"The java jar file could not be launched." check the console for possible error messages

Ctrl-click on the .zip file, hover your mouse over Open With, and in the submenu select Archive Utility. If Archive Utility isn't listed, click on "Other..." in the submenu, click on your main hard drive, and then go to System > Library > CoreServices and click on Archive Utility, then click on Open.

Please help me, I am having the same problem.

You can't possibly be having the same problem. The RTProtectionDaemon has only been in existence for about two months and this discussion is over four years old.

The error message you posted says nothing about a java jar. AFAIK, RTProtection does not use Java code at all.

You posted this in the OS X v10.7 Lion Forum. Are you really running that old a system? Malwarebytes for Mac only runs on macOS 10.10 through 10.12.

There are only two or three persons who might see your posting, so it's never a good idea to post a "me too", especially one this old. Answers will likely only come if you start a new discussion item in the appropriate Forum for you OS, explaining your situation in much more detail than you have. That will allow maximum exposure and get you much more help faster. That's just the way the Forum works.

Better yet, get help from the developer on the Malwarbytes for Mac Support Forum.

Are you sure you enabled logging in System Preferences->Java:

What version of Java are you using?

As the error message says, go to your hard drive > Applications > Utilities > Console and then open the jar file. Then select, copy and paste the java error message into a new post in this thread.

Then the Java Preferences was replaced by the Java Control Panel accessed via System Preferences->Java. See if that has a preference to "Enable Logging", otherwise it may not show up in Console's Log List.

Where did you download it from, java.com or oracle.com? If the latter, did you install the JRE or JDK?

Do you also have Java SE 6 from Apple installed, either by migrating from a previous OS X or installing it when you first got your Lion Mac?

Do you know if those files will work with Java 6, Java 7 or both?

No, unfortunately all I know about the Java Control Panel come from here since I can't run it with my setup yet.

I opened up Console then opened the jar file, but I couldn't find my console error message -- if I do find it, what would I do next?

I still can't find the message the whole thing is empty please help
