The iMac hangs on startup at white screen. I have 2 LaCie firewire 800 drives daisy chained & connected to the iMac with the Firewire Adaptor in one Thunderbolt port, and a 2005 20" Cinema Display in the other via the DVI Adaptor. If I unplug the Firewire Adaptor it starts up normally. It was working fine after initially setting it up, then started hanging.

I have tried selecting the iMac's startup disk in system preferences, it has had no effect. If I allow the iMac to power up without the adaptor plugged in, then plug in the adaptor, the drives power up and mount on the desktop normally.
Even without any drives attached to the adaptor, the issue remains. The adaptor has been replaced, but the issue remains.
This is good to know... I have several FW800 drives, and was considering the TB to FW adapter.
Looks like I need to consider a breakout box. Dang.
