Q: I have just upgraded my laptop and iMac to Snow Leopard. Now I can't open any of my pages documents. I just get a message saying The document could not be opened. TextEdit cannot open files in the Pages document format."  How do I  rectify this  please?

Upgrading to Snow Leopard has effectively made it impossible to save or retrieve all of my Pages documents. How do I stop TextEdit ?

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.3)

Firstly, if you run Pages and use File>Open does this open the documents?

You could Get Info on the documents and if necessary change 'Open with' to 'Pages' - clicking 'Change All...'  should sort out all similar documents (in theory).

    Hi Roger

Thanks for your help. I have followed your instructions, and all seems to be fine now.

I was beginning to tear my hair out , thinking the Upgrade was not such a good idea after all !

Once again thanks for your swift response, Much appreciated.

    Best Regards
