Upgrading to Snow Leopard has effectively made it impossible to save or retrieve all of my Pages documents. How do I stop TextEdit ?

Firstly, if you run Pages and use File>Open does this open the documents? You could Get Info on the documents and if necessary change 'Open with' to 'Pages' - clicking 'Change All...'  should sort out all similar documents (in theory).
