Forgot passcode. My ipod touch is now disabled. How do I reset?

You cannot recover a forgotten passcode. If your device is not disabled due to mis-entry of the passcode, you can backup the content and then restore to factory condition, Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings, and then restore from the backup.


If your device is disabled, you have no option but to place it in recovery mode, per http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212 which erases all content and settings.


Forgotten passcodes cannot be recovered, otherwise the system would not be secure.
