Feb 21, 2013 3:58 AM in response to EchoKamelby Winston Churchill,Welcome to the Apple Community.
The official blurb states that the requirement is an Apple keyboard or 3rd party keyboard with an Apple layout, so it seems that layout is somewhat important in getting this to work. Given other users reports of problems setting up other foriegn language layouts, it may be that only English language layouts are supported. I would emphasise though that I don't really know.

Feb 21, 2013 5:36 AM in response to EchoKamelby Tom Gewecke,I think the only way to use different layouts with the Apple TV is via the iOS Remote app. I've never seen any indication that the Apple TV software itself includes any way to change the keyboard layout from qwerty to anything else. It would have to be somewhere in the settings, like where you choose the interface language.

Feb 21, 2013 6:06 AM in response to EchoKamelby EchoKamel,Thanks to all, my regional settings are well done: location is Brussels, language is french in the IOS. But by pressing "a" on the keyboard,"q" is displayed on the screen. Do not understand how Apple can deploy a new firmware without taking in account such basic concerns. Best Regards.

I had wondered if that might be in the pipeline, thank you for sharing, we can now also let others know. I've seen others wanting to use the QWERTZ layout too.
