Epson 2200 not working right

RWS - If you've updated to 10.4.6 you should have the intel mac 2200 driver on your machine. Go to your printers management application in system preferences, remove any current 2200 printers you have installed and re-add them - it should do the trick. I have mine working just fine on my Macbook Pro.

The built in drivers in OSX 10.4.6 are Unix Gimp print drivers. They may or may not work properly, and they don't give you access to any special print dialogues for the 2200. I would download the latest drivers from the Epson web site and try them. After installing the drivers, you will have to go to the Printer Installation Utility and add the various versions of the drivers (standard, minimize margins, borderless, etc.). You should also to the Epson web site and download the latest paper profiles and install them.

That said, there aren't any new drivers for the Intel Macs, but maybe the current ones will work.

An early step in troubleshooting SP2200 problems is always to go to Epson's website and download and install the latest drivers, even if they are the exact same drivers that are already installed. Not all that intuitive (perhaps the existing drivers get corrupted or whatever?) but it often works.

My epson 2200 works fine-but I can't get to the borderless printing with it. When I get to the dialog box under add printers,print browser, more printers and choose Epson USB, I don't get the drop down menu on the bottom that says "set page options". My G4 Powermac running the same operating system gets that drop down menu where you can pick the borderless printing. My current driver version is 1.27. I've gone to the epson web site and downloaded epson 11019.sea.hqx, but there is not a dmg file there. Nothing exists when I download that driver. I'm getting my 1.27 version from my original installation disk. Is anyone having this same problem?

Powermac G5 Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Since I upgraded to 10.4.7 I cannot get the printer utility to load - it either quits or becomes unresponsive. Reset printers, reinstalled, etc., etc.

Can you install the "intel" drivers on a PPC G5?? The latest drivers on Epson's site show the PPC driver only good up to OS X 10.3.2 and the intel driver starts at 10.4.4

USB. The driver I'm using is "Epson SP 2200". I clicked to add a new printer and then clicked "more printers" and it shows up in the list.
