Remove hard drive (Blueberry Imac G3 333mhz)

My old Imac (Blueberry Imac G3 333mhz) has died and I want to give it away to someone for spares/components rather than putting it in a landfill.
My problem is the Mac died before I had chance to format the hard drive and I want to be sure there isn't any sensitive info on there. As the Mac won't boot up I suspect the best way of doing this is to remove the hard drive. Can anyone point me to a tutorial or guide of how to do this?
