I have converted a trailer to a project to enable adding still photos. Now I need to add more text, but cannot find out how to do it. I can edit existing text, but can't add new between stills. Is this possible? Will I need to start over with a trailer, create all my text, then convert it to a project so I can add the still pictures?

Yes very possible. Open the text tab and drag the one you want to where you want it. If this is not working, you may be software trouble and might want to call Apple support.
