I had my lightning connector hooked in to my usb adapter in my vehicle yesterday and when i went to plug in my iPhone 5 the connector was too hot to hold and the connector had apperntly melted from the inside because the plastic housing is distrted and its no longer it original shape. Has anyone else had this problem?

I had this issue, my lightning cord was plugged into my work computer and the I noticed that the lightning cord would get very hot, I noticed that the hottest spot was near the connector and that the plastic started to warp. I am going to make an appointment with th apple store, hopefully they replace the cord for me!
This happened to me too. My cable was plugged into my computer and it became brown and burnt.
