You have no connection to the iCloud servers or they are dead, as far as number 2 goes I can ping both.

    I used p01-imap.mail.me.com and p11-imap.mail.me.com

(I suspect that the second is yours, but you mistyped the ping command so try it again using ping p11-imap.mail.me.com) post back.

I used smtp.mail.me.com for outgoing server, same as you, all servers replied.

No mistype, that's what triggered when I typed "imap.mail.me.com", but the lines above had the normal username info:

    ping imap.mail.me.com

    PING st11-pimap.mail.me.com.akadns.net (17.172.34.200): 56 data bytes

    Request timeout for icmp_seq 0

    Request timeout for icmp_seq 1

Am I hitting a different IP than you are when you do it?

    No,

    I get 17.172.34.225 from p01- and p11-

01 responded but this time 11 timed out.

The issue is the same whether we use WiFi or cellular access.

Don't know where jst1958 is located in Indiana. I'm in South Bend. I see you said a client of yours in Hammond, IN was not having issues. Hammond is 70 miles west of South Bend.

Thanks. But sadly I have no more idea than before I am using the same servers and mail works. I can no longer get a reply from p11- prefix but can ping the server at other prefixes as well as with no prefix, which only makes it more confusing (I'm not so far away from you, Chicago)

I'll come back if I have any ideas that might work.

Okay, the status page ( http://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/ ) is finally updated and confirms that there are users having iCloud connectivity issues.

That's right (I just received an email from them coincidentally) but I have just noticed that if I use Opera to retrieve the mail I am seeing the 'body not loading' issue which someone else mentioned, but Mail and Safari are fine.

My head is officially spinning at this time

OK, (that must have been a recent development) and it clearly is only affecting a subset of users (albeit in many areas).

    Mine just came good.

Desktop Mail was out for us at the office and at home from approx 11AM to 4.55pm EST.

iCloud.com mail was also unaccessible during this time.

I believe iOS mail continued to work during this time.

The iCloud status page did not show any problems with 'Mail' during that time, only with iCloud.com !

I haven't been able to delete email all day off iPhone (and intermittent incming email) and iCloud still has no mail access at all. BUT mail staus is listed as Green? Hardly seems workable.
