Q: Is there a way to see which of my AE I am connected to as I move around my house?
I have an extreme and an express I am using to extend my network. As I move around I would like to know which unit I am connected to.
MacBook, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8)

On your MacBook......
Locate it near your AirPort Extreme
Hold down the option key on the Mac while you click on the fan shaped AirPort icon at the top of the screen
Look for the BSSID and jot down the last few characters. That is the AirPort ID of the AirPort Extreme.
Now move the MacBook near the AirPort Express
Perform the same check as above and note the last few characters of the BSSID, which should be different than the ID of the AirPort Extreme, indicating that the MacBook is now picking up the signal from the AirPort Express.
You may find a few other useful things when you do this check, such as the band the MacBook is using, the current wireless Channel, etc.
