consolidating m3u playlist into folders

I find many tools for creating m3u files that reference many mp3 files - and tools to use m3u files to create playlists in iTunes.

Here is what I'd like to do:

I have folders that contain "loose" songs (sometimes dozens) by an artist. Within these folders are m3u files that group the songs into their respective albums. What I'd like to do is use the m3u files to create folders by album. I don't see a Mac tool to do this. If I were to just move over the m3u file to iTunes I would get playlists and I'd rather have the songs grouped in the more conventional album structure. Multiple playlists created for each album seems excessive to me.

TIA

They are .mp3's. I have a folder that has 150 - ish "loose" songs. There are about 15-20 .m3u files that correspond with the albums that these songs should belong to there as well in the same folder.

Am I missing something here? Wehen I double click on the .m3u file iTunes opens up and starts playing a playlist that represents what I would LIKE the album to look like. I'm not looking for playlists I'm looking for albums. Do I just have to make albums manually myself? Seems clunky to me.

It must be me. What am I missing?
