Why is my iPhone 4s battery draining so fast?

Actually, it is my wife's phone.. The battery is draining like a leaky bucket. This is a brand-new issue as of this morning. It has not happened before. Last week, she updated the OS to 6.1.1...but I don't know if the problem is related to that. Any ideas? Thanks!
