How can I delete previous Time Capsule backups?

I have a 2TB Time Capsule and have used 1TB so far. How can I delete older backups to make more room on my Time Capsule?


I don't want to delete everything, just backups from earlier last year when I first got it.

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

The easiest way is to:

  1. Enter time machine (on the Mac whose backup you want to delete)
  2. Go to the point in time you want to delete
  3. Select the settings icon in the finder and choose 'Delete Backup'

This ensures the backup catalog remains accurate and the integrity of your data stays intact.
