ipod touch and ihome ia17

okay so i went through a heck of a time trying to get my ihome from sears in the first place for christmas. After I finally got everything with the purchase sorted out, I was syked to have my iHome! I loved it... UNTIL my brother started an update for my ipod. My iHome was working fine before so I figured I'd just update my ipod and continue. Well, once i updated my ipod my iHome no longer works!!! It tells me ipod touch does not support this accessory. I went through a nightmare trying to get my iHome in the first place and I'd really appreciate it if I could actually use it!!!!! The most I've discovered is with apple's updates they do not always support "third party devices". But I want it fixed!!!!!! Any suggestions?

SOmetimes this works

- Reset the dock.

- Go to iHome's support site and see if there is a firmware update available

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: How to back up

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store and see if they can help. Bring the dock
