I pushed "facetime" while making a call, and now whenever I call that number, it activates facetime. I know I can turn off Facetime in settings, but I use it for other calls. How can I delete facetime just from this one contact?

I suspect that what you did was add this contact as a Favorite, and when you do this you're prompted to designate the entry as a Voice Call or FaceTime call, and you selected FaceTime. To correct this, remove the contact from Favorites and re-add it as a Voice Call.
There's nothing to fix, you're not understanding. I was not suggesting to delete the contact entirely, just remove its "Favorite" status and re-add it as a Favorite but this time designate it as a "Voice Call" instead of FaceTime.
I think people get confused when using the FaceTime app they set up a "FaceTime Favorite", not realizing that doing so adds that contact entry to your phone's Favorites too, but as a FaceTime contact. Either that, or when adding a Favorite from within the phone's contact list, they inadvertently select FaceTime as the way to contact the person.
You mean this happens when you call this number from your call favorites list?
Update: I did the work around with Favorites. Did not help. For some folks, when I open a contact I do NOT want to see FaceTime listed.

This works and thank you! But is extremely clumsy. Most contact lists have multiple entries for a given name, (at least in my contact list), so you have to write down the number, re-entry the contact then add to favorite. Apple, please fix this.
I have this question as well. I use FaceTime for a few contacts. The majority of contacts should NOT have an option to use Facetime.
If I delete contact from FaceTime it is also deleted from contacts. There should be an option under contact for facetime - on or off for that person. If I go to settings to disable FaceTime. The app disappears and can't be used at all. iPhone 5s. Any help? I don't use favorites. If I delete the unsteady FaceTime app is there another app I can use for the same purpose?
